Early Bird by Emil Wilson – Episode 2

1. Emil narrates, "In boys, this condition tricks the testicles into thinking the body is ready for puberty." Two humanoid testicles - pink ovular blobs with arms, legs, and faces - are standing in front of a bright yellow background. The one on the left is smiling and holding cheerleading pom-poms. The one on the right is shouting into a bullhorn, "LET'S GO!" which is written in all-caps letters alternating in blue, pink, and green. 2. Emil continues, "There are reports of boys starting puberty as early as two years old. Think about that." A little baby stands with their arms out, wearing a diaper and smiling with bright pink cheeks. Below them is the caption, "YEAR ONE." To the right is a baby wearing glasses, smoking a pipe, wearing a violet bathrobe, and reading a Playboy magazine with an unimpressed expression. Below them is the caption, "YEAR TWO." The background is washed in pink. 3. Emil writes, "When puberty happened to me, my body got thicker and I grew several inches in a single year. The problem was that I was only six years old. A young Emil, visible only by his head, stands next to a much taller and older looking Emil, two heads taller so his chest, speckled with hair, and torso are showing. To his right is a a height measuring ruler, showing that he grew from around 3.5 feet to 5.5 feet. Both Emils have straight faces, but the older Emil has one eyebrow barely cocked. They stand in front of a turquoise background.

Emil writes, "And then I got very very HAIRY." 'Hairy' is drawn in large, all-caps letters and dotted with hair. 2. Emil continues, "For my seventh birthday, I got two presents." Two the left is a bike with training wheels and streamers hanging from the handle bars. To the right is an electric razor. Both are labeled as such. The background is chartreuse. 3. Emil goes on, "Strangers would stare at me with disbelief and pity. But also with lurid fascination." An extreme close-up of a person's eyes, opened widely and staring intensely at something off-panel. They are drawn in blue, and the little sliver of background visible is hot pink.
