The Secrets of Mud by Mae Wilson – Episode 2

Same page layout as the last - two horizontal panels separated by a wide gutter. There are more greenish browns and blues than purples on this page than before. 1. A view from above of the forest floor, covered in mud and rippling puddles. Speech bubbles come out of it: â€œFLEB. SPLETCH. YEG. NORP. BLEB. FLARP.â€ The splishing sounds are still camouflaged in the landscape. 2. A similar view as the last panel, except now there are lots of frogs swimming in the puddles and mud. One looks towards there reader and says, â€œBep?"

Same layout. This page has more oranges and browns than purples and blues. 1. We zoom in on the frogs. Two (or maybe more) frogs are tangled, seemingly wrestling in the water. Two other frogs look on, one whose eyes are barely poking out of the water and another who reaches their little hands out towards the ball of frogs. Drops of rain are creating little ripples in the water. 2. An extreme close up of the human figureâ€™s eye. The pupil and iris are completely reflecting the scene of the frogs.
